|Synopsis||The legend of the Coolangatta Kids originates from the early 1960's with rare archive footage of the infamous trio Michael Peterson, Wayne "Rabbit" Batholomew and Peter Townend.
More recently, a fresh generation of Cooly kids has evolved. Mick Fanning, Dean Morrison and Joel Parkinson have picked up where there elders left off and have taken professional surfing to new heights. The town of Coolangatta has been the perfect training ground for professional surfer's for decades. It is littered with world class point breaks - Kirra, the Superbank, and Snapper Rocks are the most popular and have produced some of the best surfing footage ever recorded including some of the longest tubes ever surfed. In this episode, we find out from the locals what it is that makes this town so special and why there are so many world champion surfers that live in the region.
