||Known as the proving ground of surfing, Angie introduces the Hawaiian surfers that have earned the reputation as the most hardcore posse in the industry - both in and out of the water. There is no other place in the world like Hawaii that produces such consistent big swells. Likewise, there is no other island that handles swell like the island of Maui and the infamous big wave location Piahi (Jaws). In this episode we follow a handful of the worlds best big wave surfers to Jaws as they take on a 50 foot winter swell.
We also catch up with Taj Burrow and local Hawaiian surfer Dusty Payne for an insight into the other side of the Maui, which is also magical. Concluding the episode, we head to the North Shore where we review the best waves of the Hawaiian winter season and meet up with some of the young local aspiring surfers who go to school just a stones through from the notorious Banzai Pipeline, one of the most treacherous waves on Earth. And lastly, we check out the Eddie Aikau big wave invitational, which is one of the most prestigious surfing contest in the world.
