In the realm of professional surfing, talent reigns supreme. With a fully-formed competitive tour and companies willing to spend top dollar in search of the next great surfing talent, surfers today are by sheer ability able to make comfortable livings as professional athletes.
But the fact is that these sponsored pros are the exception to the rule, and not the norm. The rest--even surfers with incredible ability--have had to find ways to make surfing the center of their lives.
In this episode of FiNS, we'll take a look at some of the sport's most unique characters--surfers with passion and personality in abundance, happy to be in the water everyday. Though they've all come from different backgrounds, they've found diverse ways to focus their energy on riding waves, all in pursuit of the same obsession.
