Firsthand - Fred Patacchia
One of Hawaii's best up & coming surfers, Fred Patacchia spent 4 years trying to make it onto the WCT. The top 16 from the WQS would move to the WCT, and Fred was sitting at 16, along with others, so the pressure was on to do well in the contest. He got a great free surf in good-sized waves at Haleiwa; and surfed a couple great days at Pipe, but he gave us an inside look at the most famous wave on the planet;went deep-sea fishing and caught a few nice Mahi-Mahi, and spent time with his family.
